Healthy Trees... Premium Fruit... Passionate Customers.
In its beginning, Martex Farms started with scarcely 200 acres. Since, the company has developed into a four farm, 2,500-acre operation, manages a packing plant, a processing plant and employs more than 300 staff.
Farms
The Santa Isabel and Juana Díaz Valleys, on the Southern coast of Puerto Rico, are home to Martex Farms. This tropical paradise provides rich fertile soil, dry climate conditions, a steady but gentle breeze, ideal temperature throughout the year and plenty of sunshine to our four farms named – Jauca, Paso Seco, Río Cañas and Descalabrado.
Packing Facilities
The Jauca farm houses Martex Farms packing facilities as well as its’ administrative offices. The 100,000 sq. ft. facility is equipped with state of the art sorting equipment, hot water treatment facilities for fruit destined to the United States, forced air pre-cooling rooms and cold storage space. Here our mangos, as well as the rest of our exotic tropical fruits, are screened, washed, dried, classified, sorted, labeled, packed, palletized and pre-cooled by properly trained personnel. Our banana washing tanks, packing line and ripening rooms are also housed in this facility.
